    Welcome to the permanent web/internet home for human: Rob Dupree and dog: Sox.  After bouncing around the web and various hosting & internet services over past many years I decided that it's high-time I just setup a long-term home for stuff that I want to web'ify and make generally available.  So here we are, all this space and bandwidth and all you're getting is a big'ol mostly blank screen with late-night, 3-beer attempt at a clever intro designed to give you a clue about why the site is here.

"Why RallyDogRacing?"

    RDR is the current evolutionary cycle in my long-term infatuation with cars & racing.  Frankly it's a fascination with most things mechanical but once I could afford it, well cars have been a primary leasure time focus.  Fetish maybe..  Addiction probably..  So having been involved in car-club activities and then adding SCCA Pro & Club rally (before they dropped the series) to the mix; it eventually became obvious I was going to need a name beyond my given one that I can associate my racing stuff. 

   Ideas came and ideas went.  There's a gazillion racing teams and groups out there and I was fairly convinced that I would never be as clever as say "CAM Racing" (Cheap Ass Motor Sports) which belongs to a friend in Ohio, or Rellentless RallySport which is a now moth-balled team I hope someday will rise again.  I was just me, and so I kept my eyes pealed for inspiration.  That inspriration arrived one day in the form of a monster doggy-sneeze from my pooch Sox whilst she had her head sticking out the window on a road-trip.  There she was: tongue-lolling, cheeks flapping, ears fluttering and the biggest shit-eating grin as she lived in the moment of the speed & thrill.  It's that big grinning Boxer/Rotty mug that struck me as the image for RallyDogRacing and the feeling I get when out on the track or on rally-stage.  Great now I've got a name for these activites; but there's one important step remaining before I was ready to plunk down hard earned money for a domain...  In the quality-control realm I found my friends a most valuable resource.  As friends are so talented at, any name I came up with in the past was quickly turned into the most degrading and debased idea, and thus RDR was the final choice because to date it seems to have survived essentially unscathed.
